# Introduction to Passr

Welcome to Passr, the compliance infrastructure designed specifically for mid-market outdoor and activewear brands. Passr helps you easily generate, manage, and publish **Digital Product Passports (DPP)** to comply with upcoming European Union regulations.

## Why Digital Product Passports?

The European Union's **Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)** mandates that all textile and apparel products sold within the EU must carry a machine-readable passport by 2026-2030. Passr enables your brand to comply with these requirements, establish consumer trust, and streamline audit-readiness.

## Supported Regulations

Passr's data schema and workflows are built to cover three key regulatory frameworks:

### 1. EU ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation)

Mandates transparency around material durability, recyclability, recycled content percentages, and supply chain traceability.

### 2. French AGEC Law (Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy)

Requires brands selling into the French market to disclose environmental characteristics (recycled material content, traceability of assembly, sewing, and dyeing, presence of microplastics, and recyclability).

### 3. PFAS & Chemical Disclosures

Enables brands to disclose chemical safety assessments, declare PFAS presence, and upload laboratory certifications (e.g., fluorine test reports) to verify PFAS-free status.

## How Passr Works

1. **Build Your Catalog**: Add your apparel styles, SKUs, and unique GTINs (GS1 barcodes) manually or via bulk CSV upload.
2. **Fill the Compliance Locker**: Document materials, supply chain facilities, and compliance certificates for each style.
3. **Generate GS1 Digital Links**: Export print-ready, high-resolution QR codes that link directly to each product's public passport page.
4. **Publish**: Share compliance records with customers, retailers, and regulators on the off-white consumer-facing `verify.passr.eu` scanner portal.
