# Recycler Portal

> Share disassembly and circularity data securely with certified recycling facilities.

# Recycler Portal

The **Recycler Portal** is a secure, password-protected view of your product's disassembly and circularity data. It gives certified textile recyclers and repair facilities access to the information they need — without exposing it to general consumers.

## 1. What Is the Recycler Portal For?

When a garment reaches end-of-life, recyclers need technical data that goes beyond what's shown on the public passport — specifically:

* **Disassembly instructions** (how to separate components for material recovery)
* **Component breakdown** (zippers, buttons, padding — material type and location)
* **Chemical treatment details** (coatings, finishes that affect recyclability)
* **Material separation guide** (which parts are recyclable, compostable, or must be landfilled)

This data is valuable to recyclers but inappropriate for general public display. The Recycler Portal provides a separate, access-controlled view specifically for end-of-life handlers.

## 2. Setting Up the Recycler Portal

The Recycler Portal uses a **brand-level password** to authenticate recyclers. You generate and control this password.

### Generating Your Recycler Password

1. Go to **Settings → Recycler Portal**
2. Click **Generate Recycler Password**
3. Passr generates a secure, unique password for your brand (format: `passr-rcyc-v2-xxxxx`)
4. Share this password with your certified recycling partners

  Treat your recycler password like an API key. Share it only with verified, certified recycling facilities. If you believe the password has been compromised, click **Regenerate Password** to issue a new one — the old password immediately stops working.

## 3. The Recycler Access Flow

Here's how a recycler accesses your disassembly data:

1. The recycler scans the product's QR code (same code as the consumer)
2. On the public passport page, they click **"Recycler / Professional Access"**
3. They enter your brand's recycler password
4. A protected view opens showing the full disassembly data and circularity schematics

This flow means **no separate portal URL is needed** — the recycler gate is built directly into the consumer passport page.

## 4. Adding Disassembly Data

Disassembly data is added per-product in the Compliance Locker:

1. Open a product's Compliance tab
2. Scroll to **Circularity & Disassembly**
3. Add:
   * **Component inventory** (e.g. "YKK #5 Coil Zipper — Nylon — 1 piece")
   * **Disassembly steps** (numbered instructions for separating components)
   * **Recyclability classification** per component (Recyclable / Non-recyclable / Compostable)
   * **Take-back programme link** (if your brand has one)

## 5. EU Regulatory Context

The EU ESPR framework explicitly recognises the need for **end-of-life handlers** to access product-specific repair and disassembly information. The Recycler Portal is designed to meet this requirement — providing a technically accurate, access-controlled data layer without conflating it with consumer transparency.

French AGEC also requires brands to disclose product **recyclability** and **reparability** scores. These scores can be configured at the product level and are shown both on the public passport and in the Recycler Portal view.
