# Scan Analytics

> Track how often and where your Digital Product Passports are being scanned around the world.

# Scan Analytics

Every time a consumer scans your QR code or visits a product's passport URL, Passr records the event. The **Scan Analytics** dashboard turns these events into actionable insights about where your products are being used, which styles generate the most engagement, and whether your compliance communications are reaching consumers.

## 1. Where to Find Scan Analytics

Scan data is available at two levels:

* **Brand-level** — Go to **Dashboard** to see aggregated scan metrics across all your published products
* **Product-level** — Open any product and go to the **Scan Analytics** tab to see data for that specific style

## 2. Dashboard Metrics

The main Dashboard displays the following at a glance:

| Metric                   | Description                                    |
| :----------------------- | :--------------------------------------------- |
| **Total Scans**          | Cumulative scans across all published products |
| **Scans This Month**     | Scans in the current calendar month            |
| **Most Scanned Product** | The product with the highest scan count        |
| **Scan Trend**           | Week-over-week change (↑ or ↓)                 |

## 3. Product-Level Analytics

For each individual product, the **Scan Analytics** tab shows:

### Scan Volume Over Time

A line chart showing daily or weekly scan counts over the past 30, 90, or 365 days. Use this to spot spikes — for example, after a product launch, a press feature, or a retail rollout.

### Geographic Distribution

A world heat map showing which countries and regions your passport scans are coming from. Useful for:

* Confirming that EU market consumers are engaging with your compliance disclosures
* Identifying unexpected markets where your products are circulating
* Supporting geographic compliance reporting

### Scan Source Breakdown

Where scans are originating from:

| Source         | Meaning                                                      |
| :------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **QR Code**    | Scanned via the printed QR code on a physical garment or tag |
| **NFC Tap**    | Tapped via an NFC-enabled smart label                        |
| **Direct URL** | Consumer typed or followed the URL directly in a browser     |

### Device Type

* Mobile (iOS / Android)
* Desktop / Tablet

## 4. Using Analytics for Compliance Reporting

Scan analytics serve as **evidence of DPP engagement** — useful if you need to demonstrate to regulators, retailers, or auditors that your Digital Product Passports are actively accessible to consumers.

You can export a scan report as a CSV or PDF from the Analytics tab:

1. Set the date range
2. Click **Export Report**
3. Choose CSV (raw data) or PDF (formatted summary)

## 5. Privacy

Passr scan analytics are **fully GDPR-compliant**. We do not:

* Track individual users across sessions
* Store personally identifiable information from scan events
* Use scan data for any advertising or retargeting purposes

Geographic data is aggregated at the country level — individual scan locations are not stored.
