QR Code Factory & GS1 Digital Links

Every published Passr product gets a GS1 Digital Link QR code — a single scannable code that works both as a standard barcode for retail POS scanners and as a link to your product’s public Digital Product Passport page.
Traditional barcodes (UPC, EAN-13) only encode a product number. A GS1 Digital Link combines the barcode number with a web URL, encoded into a single QR code:
The result: one QR code that:
  • Opens your product’s Digital Product Passport when scanned by a smartphone
  • Reads as a standard barcode when scanned by a retail POS or warehouse scanner
This eliminates the need to print both a QR code and a traditional barcode separately — one code does both.

2. Generating Your QR Codes

Navigate to QR Generator in the sidebar:
  1. Select a product from the dropdown (only Published products are available)
  2. Choose your export format
  3. Choose your print size preset
  4. Click Download

Always use SVG for print. SVG files can be scaled to any size without pixelation, making them ideal for textile hangtags, care labels, carton boxes, and screen printing.

3. NFC Tags

In addition to QR codes, Passr supports NFC (Near Field Communication) tags for premium products. NFC tags are embedded directly into garment labels or hangtags and can be tapped by any modern smartphone — no camera scanning required. To get your NFC tag URL:
  1. Open a published product
  2. Go to the QR Code tab
  3. Copy the NFC Target URL (https://verify.passr.eu/01/{your-GTIN})
  4. Write this URL to your NFC tags using a standard NFC writer (or ask your label supplier)
NFC tags and QR codes point to the same public passport page — both work seamlessly together.

4. Print Specifications

When preparing files for your print supplier, follow these guidelines to ensure your QR codes scan reliably:
Always test scan your QR codes from a physical print sample before going into mass production. Scanner performance varies by material, surface texture, and print quality.

5. Bulk Export

On the Growth and Scale plans, you can export QR codes for your entire catalog in a single operation:
  1. Go to QR Generator
  2. Click Bulk Export
  3. Select the products you want (or choose all Published products)
  4. Choose format and size preset
  5. Download as a ZIP file containing one QR code file per product, named by SKU
